Frequently asked questions

What does Grammar Checker do?
You paste text or point it at up to 5 URLs. We extract the visible copy from each page, run it through our grammar engine, and flag spelling, typo, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar errors — each with a suggested fix and the sentence it came from.
URLs vs pasted text — which should I use?
Use URL mode when auditing a live page or a small site section — we fetch and extract only the readable body copy. Use paste-text mode for drafts, Google Docs exports, or anything not yet published. Both modes use the same grammar engine.
Why is there a 5-URL cap?
Each URL is fetched, parsed, and checked in parallel. Five URLs is the sweet spot for our processing window with enough headroom for slow pages. Need more? Run batches of five.
What exactly gets extracted from a URL?
We strip scripts, styles, navigation, footer, header, iframes, and SVG markup, then extract the block-level text (headings, paragraphs, list items). Hidden metadata, comments, and UI chrome are not included.
What kinds of errors does it catch?
Five categories: spelling (misspelled words), typo (obvious slips like "teh"), punctuation (missing/extra commas, apostrophes), capitalization (proper nouns, sentence starts), and grammar (subject-verb agreement, tense mix-ups, etc.).
How accurate is it?
The engine is tuned specifically for grammar extraction with a deterministic prompt, so results are stable across runs. It catches the errors a careful editor would — and occasionally flags intentional stylistic choices; treat suggestions as guidance, not gospel.
Is pasted text private?
Pasted text is stored in our database linked to your user account so you can revisit the run. We don't share it with third parties and don't use it to train models. Don't paste confidential content.
How much does a run cost?
A fraction of a cent for typical pages — longer pages or a full 5-URL batch cost a little more. We bill the exact amount after the run completes and deduct it from your available funds (every new account starts with $100).
